Day 1: Arrive in Chennai, where your guide will warmly welcome you and assist with a smooth transfer to your hotel. Spend the evening settling in and relaxing.
Day 2: Drive to Mahabalipuram to explore the stunning Shore Temples, the Five Rathas, Arjuna’s Penance, and the beautiful beach. Lunch is served traditionally on a banana leaf. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Mahabalipuram.
Day 3: Travel to Pondicherry and discover Auroville Ashram, the beach, and museum. After lunch, check into your hotel, then take an evening rickshaw ride through the town. Dinner and overnight in Pondicherry.
Day 4: Head to Tanjore after breakfast. Visit the Royal Palace complex, Schwartz Church, Maratha Durbar Hall, the tank, and art gallery. Lunch and dinner are at local spots. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5: Drive to Madurai via Trichy, stopping to see Srirangam Temple, Rock Fort, Sri Ranganathaswamy, and Kallanai in Trichy. In Madurai, enjoy dinner and experience the captivating evening ceremony at Meenakshi Temple, returning by auto-rickshaw.
Day 6: Explore the Thirumalai Nayak Palace before driving to Thekkady. Evening highlights include a traditional Kalaripayattu martial arts show. Dinner and overnight in Thekkady.
Day 7: Tour a spice plantation, then board a houseboat in Alleppey. Cruise the serene backwaters, soaking in the charm and tranquillity. Enjoy lunch and dinner on board. (Air conditioning runs from 9 PM to 9 AM.)
Day 8: After breakfast, visit Cochin’s Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace, Chinese Fishing Nets, Jew Town, and St. Francis Church. Enjoy a grilled lunch before your flight back to Japan. End of services.
