Chhattisgarh Chhattisgarh, the 26th state of the Indian Union, is located in the heart of India. The newly formed Indian state of Chhattisgarh was carved out of Madhya Pradesh on 1st November 2000. Raipur : Raipur is an important town and the capital of the newly formed state of Chhattisgarh in central India. It is a flourishing city not only in terms of industry but also tourism as it ropes in large numbers of tourists from various corners of India. The famous places to visit here are Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum, Mahakoshal Art Gallery, Doodhadhari Monastery and Temple etc.
Kawardha : Kawardha is a town that is located in the state of Chhattisgarh in the Kabirdham district. The town is known for its temples and the main ones are the Bhoramdheo Temples. They are situated at a distance of 16 kilometers from the town and one can see many exquisite carvings and sculptures in these temples.


Chitrakote Falls

Chitrakote Falls : This is an important tourist attraction spot which is a must watch for tourists. Deep in the heart of Bastar forest, this enormous waterfall plunges down from a height of 100 feet.
National Parks and Sanctuaries : In Chhattisgarh there are 3 National Parks and 11 Wildlife Sanctuaries with a multitude of wildlife. Among these, Indrawati National Park, Kanger Ghati National Park and Achanakmar Sanctuary are important tourist attractions in Chhattisgarh. Some endangered species like Wild Buffalo and Hill Myna are spotted here.
Kanker : This thousand year old town offers a splendid combination of forest, waterfalls and exquisite tribal villages nestled inside. Here is an old palace still resided by the royal family of the area, which itself is one of the major tourist attractions in Chhattisgarh.



Chamaparan : The erstwhile Champaranya was the birthplace of Saint Vallabhacharya. The place is famous for his birth anniversary sometime in April-May and an annual fair sometime in Jan-Feb.

Best time to visit Chhattisgarh : The best time to visit the place is within October to March. Due to its tropical climate the temperature goes up to 45 degree during summer months (April-June) after which monsoon starts. So in order to avoid monsoon rains and hot summers, it is best to visit Chhattisgarh in winter, when the weather remains pleasant.
