Located
in southern Bihar on the banks of river Falgu, a tributary of river

places of Buddhism. It is at Bodhgaya that Lord Buddha had attained

Sarnath
is a revered pilgrimage destination for the Buddhist community. The
place is located on the outskirts of Varanasi in northern Indian state
of Uttar Pradesh. It is at Sarnath that Lord Buddha had delivered his
first sermons after attaining enlightenment. Here, he had told his five
disciples the middle part for attaining 'Nirvana'.

Kushinagar
is situated in Deoria district of eastern Uttar Pradesh. After a life
dedicated to preaching mankind to alleviate their sufferings and the
path of attaining salvation, Lord Buddha had died at Kushinagar on his
way from Rajgir to Sravasti. The event is called Parinirvana in Buddhist
parlance.

Vaishali
is located at a short distance of 55 kms from Bihar's capital city of
Patna. A place of great historical significance, Vaishali is held in
high reverence by both Buddhists and Jains. Lord Buddha had delivered
his last sermons at this place and also announced his Mahaprayan.
